Heritage Park was planned to celebrate the nation's Bicentennial in 1975. Florence Hosmer gave the town the 4 plus acres of land and the park was named by former Town Moderator John Powers.
The park contains 4.4 acres of walking trails, benches, a small pond, bridges, wetland areas, a Kousa dogwood walk, and plantings of seasonal and native plants.
Historical markers, designed by Sudbury illuminator E. Helene Sherman can be found throughout the park. Near the Hosmer House, a collection of odd-shaped stones found in the area have been named a Fairy Garden by local children.
Heritage Park is also the home of the September 11th Memorial and Garden.
