Donate to the Society

We are a non-profit organization that depends on memberships and donations to perform our mission of preserving, celebrating and sharing Sudbury's history. We depend on donations of things related to Sudbury's History to build our collection and displays.

Other than a few small grants for specific programs, the Society receives no city, state, or federal funds for its ongoing operations.

Please note that the Society is a 501.3c non-profit organization so your donation is tax-deductible. Your contribution goes directly to funding our our work, only a very small fraction of your donation goes toward administrative costs.

If you have any questions or would like to make a special bequest, please contact the Society by email, phone (978-443-3747), or stop by during our normal hours.

Donate Historical Items

The Society collects historical artifacts, works of art and manuscripts that support the Society's mission to interpret the history of Sudbury. This includes materials made or used in Sudbury or by Sudbury people. Priority is given to artifacts that support current collecting priorities and the exhibition, research, and educational goals of the Society.

Most of our artifacts were donated by past Sudbury residents and as such accurately reflect domestic life in Sudbury.

If you have material to donate, please contact us at email, phone (978-443-3747), or stop by during our normal business hours.

We will promptly evaluate your material to determine if it fits our mission and if we can adequately care for it. Note that we do not provide appraisals of value. You can bring your material to us or if you are local we can visit you.

For more information on our collecting policy, please see our about page.
